Playing with Wool-Felting (June 29th -30th)

Class Overview
Discover the creative world of felting in this hands-on class.
Explore both wet felting & needle felting techniques, and learn
how to transform wool fibers into beautiful, functional, and
decorative pieces. This class will guide students through the
process of making their own felted cloth and crafting a beautiful
wool flower.

Why Learn Felting?
Felting is a fun and rewarding craft that combines creativity with practical skills. Working with wool is tactile and relaxing, making felting an enjoyable way to unwind and express artistic ideas. Felting does not require a lot of tools or expensive equipment; all you need is some wool and a felting needle (for needle felting) and some soap, water, and bubble wrap for wet felting. Learning to felt opens up endless possibilities for personal projects and creative exploration.
What Students Will Learn
Wet Felting: Learn how to layer, wet, and agitate wool to create a sturdy piece of
felted cloth.
Needle Felting: Discover how to use felting needles to sculpt wool into shapes and add
details.

Taught by a special Guest Instructor: Janice Crisci Doughty.

Who Should Attend: Kids ages 10 - 18
Materials Provided: All wool, felting needles, and tools will be supplied.
Take Home: Each student will leave with a beautiful felted flower and an understanding of how wool can be transformed into cloth.
